The health benefits of eating walnuts are numerous. They include being an excellent source of vitamin E, minerals and the all-important omega-3 fatty acids. Wilkinson’s Walnuts harvest three varieties. Vina and Howard are Californian varieties and Franquette is a French variety. Try them all and see what you like best. Franquette has a harder shell and to some is more flavoursome, with the rounder shaped Howard said to be the creamiest.
Available in mesh bags containing 1kg of walnuts.
Walnuts have excellent keeping qualities and will keep in shell for about 12 months if stored in a cool and dry location.
Wilkinson’s Walnuts is owned by John and Libby Wilkinson who have about 3000 trees in their walnut orchard at Lillico in Tasmania’s North West. The majority of their walnuts are harvested mechanically, processed and marketed by Walnuts Australia (a subsidiary of Webster Limited). John and Libby put in the hard yards on the trees that are on a bit of a hill, doing the harvesting, sorting and selling of walnuts from these trees.
